Creative Cottage Holiday Open House

Press release

Experience the succulent sites, sounds and smells of Christmas at the second annual Creative Cottage Holiday Open House, Saturday Nov. 10, from 10 a.m. to 7 p.m.

Guests are invited to enjoy Holiday cookies and warm cider while shopping for unique gifts and festive home decorations in the historic “little red house” located at 3192 St. Croix Trail in Afton, MN.  Creative Cottage, owned by Woodbury artist Gloria Popowitz, showcases the work of 75 local artists.

“I am so proud of this year’s art,” said Popowitz.  “When I see our work go home with someone I am filled inside and humbled at the same time. I love to make others feel special, especially around the holidays.”

Ornament artist Shirley Just will be on hand for complimentary personalization of her ornaments.  Pamela Vincent, a multi media artist, will also be at the open house to show her work and meet guests.  Finally, author Deborah Jo Larson will sign copies of her new children’s book One Frozen Lake from 2:30- 4 pm.

This year’s collection of holiday decorations includes Kohn’s Kraft wood art (santas, snowmen, and vintage-inspired street signs), stained glass snowflakes, birch log candle arrangements, holiday wreaths, festive florals and more.  In addition, guests can choose from a wide arrange of hand-made ornaments such as primitive, glass, metal and fabric.

The Creative Cottage is also filled with new distinctive, personal gifts.  Ideas include warm and fuzzy hand-knit scarves and mittens, hand-made jewelry, watercolor and acrylic paintings, candles, old-fashioned children’s toys and clothing, ceramics and glass.
