Press release
The holidays offer an opportunity to do something positive for others who are less fortunate.
Goodwill is encouraging neighbors to donate unwanted items, in support of year-round programs that prepare people for work.
The Woodbury Goodwill is located at 10450 Hudson Rd.
"In a season focused on buying, many people also want to give something back to their communities," said Lisa Ritter, director of marketing. “Even when funds are tight, everyone can help by donating items in good condition to Goodwill. We take everything from holiday sweaters to blenders to furniture—even gift cards. Then, we turn these items into something very real: job skills training, employment placement services and other community-based programs for people who have barriers to education, employment and independence.”
Goodwill is asking for the following items:
- Artwork and collectables
- Clothing and accessories
- Books
- CDs and DVDs
- Electronics
- Furniture
- Gift cards: Unwanted gift cards, with any amount on it
- Household items
- Kitchenware
- Printers
- Sporting goods
- Unwanted holiday gifts
- Video and computer games
- Cars, trucks, boats and RVs in any condition—free pickup service available in Twin Cities metro
