Open Arms: Prayer Breakfast Adds ‘Area’
The event is aimed at encouraging local leaders… so why not broaden the scope?
The Woodbury Prayer Breakfast name was recently changed to Woodbury Area Prayer Breakfast “to additionally encourage participation from surrounding community leaders and area residents,” according to a release from the Woodbury Community Foundation.
This year’s event is set for 6:55-8:55 a.m. Tuesday, May 1, at the Prom Center in Oakdale.
The keynote speakers are Woodbury residents Todd and Kellie Stocker, whose daughter Makenzie was killed in a 2009 car accident in Texas. They will speak as part of this year’s theme: "Life Interrupted…Faith During Adversity.”
Prayer for the area communities and their leaders will be the foundation of the event.
Woodbury Mayor Mary Giuliani Stephens will greet attendees and share opening remarks. Kevin Rische, general manager of 88.1 WAJC-FM, Woodbury Minnesota’s newest radio station (www.88wajc.com), “will awaken attendees with his energy and passionate faith in Christ,” the release says. “The morning will also be filled with inspiration, special music and fellowship while attendees enjoy a delicious hearty breakfast.”
Business or Event Sponsors start at $700; Table Sponsors start at $400; Individual or Event Sponsors start at $100 (includes one $20 ticket). Individual tickets are available for $20 each or $180 for a table of 9. Registration for the 2012 Woodbury Area Prayer Breakfast begins at 6:30 a.m.
For more information about becoming a sponsor or to purchase tickets online, visit the Woodbury Area Prayer Breakfast website.
Donations of non-perishable food items will be collected and given to the Woodbury Christian Cupboard Food Shelf.
