Level 5 and Level 6 gymnasts' hard work on their routines shows with scores in the 2nd State Qualifier. 

Level 5 won 2nd place out of 6 teams with an overall score of 106.650.

Makena Goodman led the scoring with a team high score of 9.20 on Uneven Bars.  Marina Emms added a 9.075, Maggie Kelly posted a 9.025 and Carrie Tripp soared in with a 9.00 on Uneven Bars.  Cassie Schreier did a great job on the Floor Exercise, leading the team with a 9.00.  Makena Goodman scored an 8.80 and Marissa Muller scored an 8.75 on the Floor.  Along with those great scores, Cassie Schreier and Makena Goodman both Vaulted to scores of 8.80.  Kendall Rogers also landed an 8.675 on the Vault.  On Beam, Marissa Muller scored an 8.75 and Cassie Schreier scored an 8.625.  Makena Goodman rounded out the scoring with a 9.15 on Beam.  Hailey Anderson also made it to state with an accumulation of 32 or higher.  Way to go!

Level 6 won 2nd place out of 9 teams with an overall score of 108.950.

Emma Albrecht in the 11 yr old group led the team on the Beam with a score of 9.375, along with Ava Key 9.30 and Erin Rogers 9.20 in the 7-10 yr olds.  Caitlin Gardiner led the team on the Vault with 9.10.  Emma Albrecht posted a 9.075 and Grace Gerten scored an 8.95.  On the Bars, Grace Gerten contributed again by scoring a 9.125.  While Emma Albrecht added a 9.05 and Ellie Hammes scored an 8.90.  Lastly, on the Floor Exercise Emma Albrecht scored a 9.10, Grace Gerten scored a 8.875 and Ava Key landed a score of 8.850.  Kaela Offstein and Erica Stanton also had solid performances and helped Level 6 capture 2nd place. 

Team gymnasts represent the communities of Forest Lake, Hugo, Lake Elmo, Oakdale, Stillwater, South Maplewood, South St. Paul, West St. Paul and Woodbury.  The Oakdale - based Rising Stars Gymnastics Academy teams train with a team of coaches: Pavel, Elena & Slava Miligoulo, Tiffany Mclean, Maria Ortiz, Cassie Moltzan and Sang-Jin Song.  For more information, call 651/730-4376.
