Aldi Looks to Improve Site for New Woodbury Grocery Store
The discount grocer plans to open in the former Borders location.
The discount grocer has submitted a building permit for interior and exterior improvements at the former bookstore at 8472 Tamarack Bay, according to a memo on the Woodbury City Council’s agenda for Wednesday. The estimated value of the work was not submitted.
Aldi in April made known its plans to open a new store in Woodbury.
A spokesperson from Aldi’s public relations firm told Patch that the anticipated grand opening date is late September or early October.
Aldi, known for its low prices, has more than 1,000 stores in 31 states, according to its website. Nearly 95 percent of its products are sold under exclusive Aldi brands.
The grocery chain held a June job fair in Woodbury.
