In many ways, they’re playing themselves. 

More than 60 Woodbury High School students will soon take the stage for Fame, a music and dance production about the successes and failures a group of aspiring young artists.

“It’s really a story about a lot of our students,” said Karen Seashore, co-director with her husband Jon. “They like playing themselves, even though the characters are a little different from their own personalities.”

Fame kicks off at 7 p.m. tonight, Friday, Nov. 2. Other performances are: 7 p.m. on Nov. 3, 7, 8, 9 and 10, with a 2 p.m. show on Nov. 4. Tickets can be purchased at the door or online.

There is a lot of dancing for Fame, including ballet, and the casting reflected the particulars of the performance, Seashore said.

It should be a fun show, she said, and theatergoers “are going to see something awesome.”

“People are going to say, ‘Oh my gosh.’ They’ll just be amazed,” Seashore said.

Milestone

Fame also marks the 75th directorial effort for Seashore and her husband Jon.

“Every show is special, she said.
