Becker Furniture World Shoots for Winter Opening at New Woodbury Store

Becker Furniture World is hoping to open its new store in Woodbury around the New Year.
Work is underway at the 40,000-square-foot space at Woodbury Commons, and a Becker Mattress store will also open at the site, said Jim Huseby, CEO.
The Woodbury location will be similar to its Maple Grove store, Huseby said, with a “fresh, innovative” look.
“It’s going to feel more ‘today,’” he said. “It’s more exciting.”

The Woodbury Becker Furniture World will feature video monitors and a design studio.
“We’re all about helping people plan their rooms,” Huseby said. “We’re not just trying to sell you a sofa.”
The selection will change with the season, and the design of new Becker stores “appeals to what people want,” Huseby said, relaying comments from industry executives.
The Becker Mattress Store will occupy about 7,500 square feet at the location and have a “spa-like feel,” Huseby said.
He noted the diagnostic testing what will be offered to those shopping for mattresses. “Kind of a science behind picking your bed.”
“We’ve got a real unique process,” he said.
The new store will be located at the Woodbury Commons retail area at 10150 Hudson Road.

I'm all for more business in Woodbury but, really? Woodbury needs another furniture store? I'm amazed when we already have: HOM, Slumberland, Ashley, Ethan Allen, Mattress Giant, The Original Mattress Co, Sleep Number, Thomasville and Total Bedroom that I can think of before my morning coffee kicks in. Rumor has it that the brick building on the corner of 19 and Hudson is also going to be a mattress store. Welcome to Woodbury Becker Furniture World, I hope you can make it with everyone else already here.

Yes, and 1,000's more citizens moving in by the year. WOODBURY......... The biggest suburb in the world. If you build it, they will come! And, that's no lie!

I think, when fully built-out, the city's population will be 85,000 or so. But that's 2040 or something.
