David's Chophouse Leads Patch Best Patio Poll
There's still time to vote for your favorite patio in Woodbury. And tell us why in the comments.
Nothing says summer (almost, anyway) like a patio.
So where’s the best place to hang outside and grab a lemonade or a cold one?
Be sure to vote in this week’s poll (below), and tell us why in the comments section. If your favorite isn’t listed, let us know and we’ll add it to the poll. And be sure to rate and review these places in our directory.
In the meantime, let’s all enjoy the sunshine!
- Lakes Tavern and Grill
- Sunsets
- Cravings
- Woody’s
- Champps
- Brix
- Carmine’s
- O’Malley’s
- David’s Chophouse

Did you see the Facebook chatter on this one? Can't believe I've never hit up the Sunsets patio.

None of them are great. If I had to pick it would be Champps only because it's the only one not over looking a parking lot. Why sit with a view of asphalt? I'd choose AC over that and dine inside. And atleast at Chammps you get a view of a fake little lake.

Ha! Yeah, and you do see the Champps patio pretty full in general. It's too bad we don't have a little retail area/downtown that was a bit less asphalt-y.

Woodbury has the worst restaurants. Aperitif was good until its tax issues, now the service is horrible.

It will be interesting to see how the Tavern Grill does there.

Have to agree with Alex ... if I want chain restaurants with a view of asphalt, I guess Woodbury would be the place. Fortunately, we do have much better options for food and/or environment within a 20 minute drive in most directions.

Guy, why aren't there more spots like that in Woodbury? Is it just the layout of the city?

I don't know why, perhaps it has to do with zoning. Woodbury has some interesting businesses missing (practically no traditional fast food places, no auto parts shops, etc.), so perhaps that is by design.
Off the top of my head, the only place I know of that is not on or with a view of a main thoroughfare in Woodbury is Axel's at Prestwick.
If there are others, please post them here - I would like to check them out. For now, though, it is a quick drive to Hudson, Afton, Stillwater, Lake Elmo, St. Paul, etc. We're pretty rich in options, if you have transportation.

Carmine's patio is awesome! Perfect spot to grab happy hour after work or for a night out on the weekends. Great food and drinks on a beautiful patio... there is nothing better!

Nice Lindsey. I posted something on Facebook when they opened it, but I haven't been over there yet. (It's hard to beat their bar though.)
