The overhaul is nearing completion and the Teppanyaki Buffet is set to open in Woodbury on Sunday, June 24.

Formerly the Atlantic Buffet, the new restaurant—in Woodbury’s City Centre—will still offer Asian food buffet-style, but will add the Japanese pan cooking, workers there told Patch.

A sign on its door indicates the opening date. The work has been going on for the past few months.

Workers at the new restaurant on Wednesday said they would have management get in touch with Patch. Check back for updates.

The restaurant is located at 8340 City Centre Drive. For more information call 651-730-8668.

I was hoping that they'd put another Applebee's in there

Tried it out, not impressed. There is less selection and it costs a couple bucks more than when it was the Atlantic. Beverages are now extra too. The interior does look a little nicer, the bathrooms aren't nasty (yet), and it's not as crowded around the buffet serving areas, but the mongolian/tepanyaki/whatever you call it has a worse layout. Same awful waitress too. Someone should explain to her the proper etiquette for taking credit cards. Step 1: deliver bill. Step 2: run credit card, return with receipt. Step 3: Ignore receipt until customers leave. If you don't follow step 3, and I can't stress this enough, don't return to the table and ask questions about the tip. If it's small, it's because you're a bad waitress at a bad buffet, or the customer is cheap. Maybe both. No point talking about it.

Thanks for weighing in Bill. A few people have asked me how things are there since the change.
