City Asks: What Do You Think of the Bielenberg Expansion Plans?
An open house about the project is set for 7 p.m. Thursday, May 31.
Have you checked out the latest plans for the Bielenberg Sports Center expansion project?
The city will present the preliminary designs for an expanded field house at the Bielenberg Sports Center and solicit feedback from residents during a May 31 open house.
“The fabric ‘dome’ roof over the field house has reached the end of its useful life and we would like to replace it with a larger, permanent structure,” Bob Klatt, Parks and Recreation director, said in a release. “Residents are strongly encouraged to come to the open house to learn more about the project, ask questions and provide feedback.”
The open house begins at 7 p.m. Thursday, May 31, at Bielenberg, with a brief presentation set for 7:30 p.m. The project is expected to cost about $15.5 million and begin in the spring of 2013.
The Bielenberg Sports Center Expansion Project Task Force—in conjunction with the project architect and construction managers—developed the preliminary design plans during a series of meetings that began in February.
Detailed project information, including the preliminary design plans and task force meeting agendas and minutes, is available on the city’s website.
If you have questions, or if you cannot attend the open house but would like to share your thoughts about the project, call the Parks and Recreation Department at 651-714-3583 or send an email to parks@ci.woodbury.mn.us.
