Colby Lake, Windwood Roadwork Nearly Complete in Woodbury
The Woodbury City Council on Wednesday got an update on the big construction projects around town.
The roadwork in Woodbury’s Colby Lake and Windwood neighborhoods is winding down.
Construction is expected to be complete by the end of next week, Public Works Director David Jessup said during Wednesday night’s Woodbury City Council meeting.
There are some “punch-list items,” mostly related to landscaping, left to complete, but the roads should be functioning normally within the next week or so, he said.
Valley Creek Road
The Valley Creek Road construction work is on schedule and should be complete by the first or second week of November, Jessup said.
Council members did have a few comments about the roadwork.
Councilwoman Amy Scoggins said intersections without four-way access—notably Tower Drive and Interlachen Parkway—should have better signage to alert motorists that they can’t get through.
Mayor Mary Giuliani Stephens also said the city should work with affected businesses on signage and detour information.
Jessup said he would bring up signage with the construction crews.
Meanwhile, Councilman Paul Rebholz said that considering the lack of rain of late, “I was hoping that we’d be ahead of schedule on this project.”

The sod was a mess!! They laid it in our neighborhood in the dead heat of summer and came around once a day to dump some water on it but it never got a good soak. They just came back around a week or so ago and tore it all back up (thankfully).

This project has been a complete mess. My street was dirt and gravel for about 3 weeks. My entire house is covered in dirt inside and out.
Also, the crew doing the work were highly unprofessional. I have seen the crew flip motorists off on more than one ocassion.
