Heat Week Brief: Fireworks Complaints, Watering Violations in Woodbury
The Public Safety Department took several complaints about fireworks and handed out several watering citations last week.
It’s been hot. We just wrapped up Independence Day.
So it might not come as a surprise that the Woodbury Public Safety Department fielded several calls about fireworks complaints, and issued plenty of citations for watering violations.
From July 5-11, police received at least a dozen calls about fireworks complaints and issued at least 20 citations for watering violations, according to recent police reports.
Check out the city’s watering policy, which is in effect year-round. (The week prior, at least 15 people were cited for watering violations.)
Surprisingly, there only about five fireworks complaints from June 28-July 3.
Note: The Woodbury Bulletin reports that police were called about 12 or so theft from motor vehicle reports on July 1 in the area of Woodlane Drive between Lake and Sherwood roads. It was mostly unlocked vehicles that were hit by thieves, according to the report. Juice pouches were left behind in vehicles in more than one instance.
