Kay Jewelers is moving from Woodbury Lakes to the space vacated by the closure of Creative Kidstuff.

Laurie Mordorski, marketing director at Woodbury Lakes, confirmed it was moving.

Construction is underway at the location, between Ficocello's and Pearl Vision, at 7150 Valley Creek Plaza, near Marshall's.

The jewelry store plans to open March 5, according to Frank Cirillo, a public relations official with Sterling Jewelers, whose brands include Kay, Jared the Galleria of Jewelry, Osterman Jewelers and others.

Kay Jewelers has 13 other locations in Minnesota, and sells jewelry for men and women.

I suppose it's a cheaper lease, but I'm not seeing it. Looking through the lease plan for Woodbury Village, I see a lot of discount to mid-level retailers, but nothing "high-end". Maybe the thought is: "To the pioneers go the arrows...but also squatter's rights."

And let's hear it for Kris, posting this at 4:45 am...news knows no time clock, apparently. :)

Ah, Eric, I usually have my first post of the day set up at that time so it gets in the newsletter that morning.
