Owner of Woodbury’s Sole Mio Earns Chef of the Year Award

Angelo Montes, owner of Sole Mio Ristorante in Woodbury, recently earned the 2012 Chef of the Year award from the American Culinary Federation.

“It’s a big deal for chefs,” Montes told Patch.

He said the award is given to someone who shows “dedication to the industry.”

Montes opened Sole Mio in October 2012 in Woodbury’s Valley Creek Mall.

He said many who begin cooking seriously want to eventually be known as a chef.

Of the award, he said: “It’s a great feeling for a person with my passion for the industry. It’s a big thing for me.”
