Police: Heroin, Needles Found Near Child’s Car Seat in St. Paul Man’s Vehicle

A St. Paul man has been charged with fifth-degree drug possession after Woodbury police found heroin, needles, razor blades and other drug-related items in his car following a Nov. 4 traffic stop.
Some of the drug paraphernalia was discovered near a child’s car seat.
Aaron Michael Carter, 23, of St. Paul, faces up to five years in prison and a $10,000 fine if convicted.
After he failed to stop at a stop sign at Tamarack Road and Weir Drive, police pulled over Carter, who appeared anxious during the stop, according to the criminal complaint.
He told police he was going to lose his job and “his life was over,” the complaint says.
Officers found heroin in his pocket and his sock, and in the car discovered six zip-lock baggies with an “8-ball” logo on them, used needles, two razor blades and other drug-related items.

I wish they would have added child endangerment charges to this person. Why would anyone put a child endanger with this sort of stuff?

Cops would only charge child endangerment if a child was with him at the time of arrest. It could not be proven that he ever had these illegal substances in the car with any child simultaneously, despite it being a logical assumption. For that matter, they couldn't prove he ever even transported a child unless one was with him at the time. I bet that since no child was mentioned in the article, this guy just got lucky that no child was present or he would have been charged for it as well.

Yeah, no child in the car. But it's kind of disturbing to think of needled and razor blades right there with a child's car seat.
