Police Report: Student Tries to Grab Woodbury Officer’s Gun on School Bus

The incident happened at Interstate 94 and Radio Drive on March 4.

A student on March 4 crawled beneath the seats of a school bus to evade officers, bit and scratched police, and tried to grab an officer’s holstered gun, according to a Woodbury police report.

Officers were called to the intersection of Interstate 94 and Radio Drive at 9:22 a.m. on a report that a bus driver was holding down a student who had assaulted the driver, the report says.

The juvenile bit and scratched officers who tried to take the student into custody, according to the report. The student was put in soft restraints and transported to a local hospital, but continued the behavior during the trip, the report says.

Officers made contact with the bus company and school officials about the incident but no further police assistance was requested.
