Report: Construction Company Chosen for New Woodbury Cabela’s
The outdoor retailer is planning to open a new store in Woodbury in the fall of 2014.
Minneapolis-based Kraus-Anderson Construction Co. will build the new Cabela’s store in Woodbury, according to the Pioneer Press.
Cabela’s, a nationwide outdoor-goods retailer, announced in January its plans to construct a new store in Woodbury. It’s planned at the southwest intersection of Interstate 94 and Radio Drive, just north of Tamarack Village.
The 85,000-square-foot store is set to open in the fall of 2014, with construction beginning this fall, Wes Remmer, Cabela's spokesman, told Patch in January.

The Woodbury location will be small compared to other Cabela’s stores, the Pioneer Press story says, as some span 250,000 square feet. Kraus-Anderson built Minnesota’s other three Cabela’s stores, according to the Pioneer Press story, which also features a rendering from the construction company.
Cabela’s expects to hire 185 full- and part-time workers, according to a January news release.
“Minnesota offers a tremendous array of outdoor pursuits and that has been highlighted by the commitment and loyalty of Cabela’s customers across the state,” CEO Tommy Millner said in the release. “Cabela’s has had remarkable success in the East Grand Forks, Owatonna and Rogers locations and we expect similar results in Woodbury.”
The building’s exterior will have the typical Cabela’s look: log construction, stonework, wood siding and metal roofing.
The inside will feature the retailer’s “next-generation layout, designed to surround customers in an outdoor experience, including dynamic wildlife displays and trophy animal mounts displayed on a mountain. The store will also feature a Boat Shop, Gun Library, aquarium, Bargain Cave and Fudge Shop,” according to the release.
The trophy animals will be local to Minnesota, Remmer said.

Isn't the build site of 94 and radio also one of the sites for a central corridor stop?

Good question, I thought the BRT plan was to bring some of those along Hudson Road, but I haven't looked at the plans in awhile. The Strib had a story recently, but I didn't see any graphics with it. Might be a good look here: http://www.thegatewaycorridor.com

Yeah they're most recent article update is from november of 2012... As of 3-12-13 at the Washington County Commissioner meeting the central corridor project Manager did a presentation where the plan is now to go from the north side of 94 to the south side at the Hartford just after 694 and not as originally planned after radio drive... So now they are going to stop at the Hartford, Globe university, and on and on from there (on the south side of 94 in Woodbury).
Maybe the corridor and Cabela's can co-exist but here's the latest graphics (see page 12):

Thanks Watchdog. I got a release from Sen. Kent today, and the Strib had a big post recently, so maybe I'll roll something together for an update.
