Woodbury Chamber Executive Director Resigns

Travis Martinson was the first executive director in the history of the local business group.

Travis Martinson, the first executive director in the history of the Woodbury Chamber of Commerce, has resigned.

Martinson told Patch she was offered a job as a development coordinator with her church in Burnsville, giving her more flexibility with her family and the chance to work closer to home.

Hired in late 2011 to lead the Woodbury Chamber of Commerce, Martinson said her time here has “been wonderful. It’s been great.”

The organization has “grown into a chamber worthy of the business community,” Martinson said.

She said the chamber has done well to develop leadership within its ranks, especially over the past six months. Martinson expects the success of the chamber of late to continue.

“There are wonderful things on the horizon,” she said.

Martinson said she will stay on with the chamber until Nov. 9 and is willing to work with the group to ease the transition.
