St. John Lutheran Church of Woodbury held its annual block party Saturday with an "Old West" theme. Hundreds of church members and visitors enjoyed pony rides, bingo, and sack races. 

Carol Olson, one the event organizers, said this was the fifth consecutive year St. John has held a block party. Paster Neldo Schmidt told Patch that this event was one way for the church to reach out to the community. St. John has been in the community for 143 years and has been at its current location since 1989.
