Woodbury Public Safety has reached its goal of training 7,000 people in hands-only CPR.
Here’s a timeline of Patch stories on the program.
February 2012 Launch
Woodbury hopes to train 7,000 people in “hands-only” CPR; kickoff event planned for Monday, Feb. 13.
Youngster Teaches Peers
Bailey Elementary fifth-grader, whose brother died from cardiac arrest, teaches her fellow students hands-only CPR.
From Woodbury Patch blogger Vicki Strong: I joined 29 other people who were on their knees at Woodbury Lutheran Church last Saturday evening. Not necessarily a strange occurence in a church, except we weren’t praying — we were groovin’ to the beat of the Bee Gee’s Stayin’ Alive. Or at least a (fairly) reasonable rendition of it as sung by Firefighter Bill.
People can ask for the city’s Take Heart Woodbury float to come out to their neighborhood.
Woodbury Days bolstered the city’s efforts to train 7,000 people in hands-only CPR.
In the Community
As part of Fire Prevention Week, the department was at Bailey Elementary School.
The city is closing in on training 7,000 people in the lifesaving technique.
