Tavern Grill opened Tuesday in the former Aperitif space in Woodbury.

“It turned out just great,” said Anoush Ansari, managing partner of Hemisphere Restaurant Partners. “This is not our first rodeo.”

The Woodbury Tavern Grill offers the same food and drink menu as its locations in Edina and Blaine, Ansari said, and the space features dark wood, large black and white photos and a handsome bar.

“We basically Tavernized it,” he said.

Though each Tavern Grill location has been repurposed, each has a unique feel, Ansari said, and designers try to stay away from the uniform décor found at some chain restaurants.

“Ours all have their own character, but the overall feel is a ‘Tavern’ feel,” he said.

Ownership liked the traffic and visibility at the location, its proximity to retail areas and major companies such as Hartford, and nearby neighborhoods, Ansari said.

“It’s just a wonderful location, we love it,” he said.

The expansive patio is also open.

People have stopped in over the past few weeks asking if Tavern Grill is open, Ansari said, and they were offered tours of the space.

Signature items include burgers, salads and pizzas, and there are gluten-free pizzas available as well, Ansari said. He doesn’t have a favorite menu item, but pointed to the buffalo chicken sandwich, Tavern burger and chop salad.

Happy hour runs from 3-6 p.m. and 9 p.m. to close every day. There is also a rewards program available.

Tavern Grill, 772 Bielenberg Drive, is open 11 a.m. to midnight Monday through Thursday, 11 a.m. to 1 a.m. Friday and Saturday, and 10 a.m. to 10 p.m. Sunday.
