UPDATE: Valley Creek Road Construction Project Pushed Back

You’ve probably seen the signs around town: the Valley Creek Road construction project is set to begin soon.

And it will start early.

The city announced Thursday that the work will begin before the morning rush hour. The county later this morning said the work is set to begin July 30.

The information here still stands, according to Woodbury's communications coordinator, Jason Egerstrom, only the start date has been pushed back.

Washington County is improving the roadway from Bielenberg Drive to Woodbury Drive; work is expected to continue through November.

Valley Creek Road and Radio Drive

The work will begin at the intersection of Valley Creek Road and Radio Drive—Washington County’s busiest intersection.

The intersection will be limited to right turns only for at least the first six days of construction, weather permitting, according to the notice from the city.

The traffic signals will be turned off and the intersection will be controlled with a four-way stop for the first 10-12 days of construction, weather permitting. After the Radio Drive-Valley Creek Road intersection opens, Valley Creek Road will be reduced to a single lane in each direction (between Tower Drive and Interlachen Parkway).

The eastbound lanes of Valley Creek Road are expected to be closed first.

City Hall

The entrance to the City Hall parking lot will remain open during construction, but access will be limited to a right-turn in and out of the parking lot for at least the first 10-12 days of construction, possibly longer, according to the city.
