What Should Go Here? Former City Walk Dental

The Woodbury dental office moved to another location down the block—what makes sense at that space?

City Walk Dental last winter moved from its location at the 10000 block of City Walk Drive.

What do you think should go in at that space? Tell us in the comments section below.

A worker with Suntide Commercial Realty hung up on Patch when asked if there were any imminent plans for the location.

At similar spots around Woodbury, residents have suggested a deli, auto parts store, tailor/seamstress/shoe repair-type place and a store that sells items for children with special needs.

What would you like to see there?

Maybe nothing if their property management firm is that rude.

Ha! It happens sometimes. Some folks just get spooked by the media.

You have to admit, you are pretty scary. ;-)

It's media relations 101, though. You say something like, "I do not have a comment" or "I can't answer that, but I can have someone contact you." or something like that...you...don't...just...hang....up...the...phone.

Considering that they lease over 1M sf of retail/office space in the metro, their people should be trained on how to handle the media. Heck, all you need to learn is the 2nd sentence I gave and how to take a message.

Looks like they have spaces available from 800 to 2400 square feet. Without knowing the fire rating for the ceiling, it's hard to know whether food service could go in there....but if you were to hold my feet to the fire, I'd say either specialty furniture or specialty mattress, because we just don't have anywhere to buy furniture or mattresses in Woodbury.

Frightening I'm sure! I'm more about honey than vinegar.

I do think a little independent deli would be good there.

I agree with a deli, but independent is key. Enough with the chain restaurants!

A NICE shoe repair business would be great. The owner of Woodbury Shoe Service is awful to deal with. I take all of my shoes to Georges Shoe & Skate Repair on Grand Ave. in St Paul now.

I've mentioned before that my wife owns WildChild Hair and Suntide was great when we opened. The owners switched management companies and they were horrible. When they went back to Suntide we were relieved....not so much now. I'm in HVAC and a restaurant in Woodbury is spendy to open because of their exhaust regulations. With residents living upstairs smell is an issue. The resident association was very picky about the floor penetrations I had to put in for the plumbing and A/C lines....lots of stress over that issue. What to put there? It will probably be office space. We are doing well, but more retail or a deli would always help.

Great analysis Dan. I've heard whispers of complaints about food-alcohol policy, but never anything regarding exhaust regulations. And I can see the point, with apartments above. (Though I wouldn't mind the smell of cured meats.)

A headshop or pawn shop would be nice.

Ha! That would be good for news, if nothing else, Paul.
