Woodbury Barnes & Noble: ‘Not Planning on Closing Anytime Soon’
The bookseller is going to close at least 20 stores a year for the next decade, according to the Wall Street Journal.
Despite news that Barnes & Noble plans to shutter 20 stores a year over the next decade, the Woodbury bookstore appears safe.
“We’re not planning on closing anytime soon,” said a store manager who declined to be identified.
The Woodbury Barnes & Noble is located at 7020 Valley Creek Plaza.
The bookseller, the nation’s largest, has closed an average of 15 stores a year since 2003, but also opened more than 30 a year in that span, according to a Huffington Post story that cites the Wall Street Journal. Still, if Barnes & Noble closes stores at the expected rate, it would reduce its numbers by a third, the post says.
The Woodbury Borders bookstore closed in 2011. There is now an Aldi grocery store at the site.

That's a relief! I'll admit to whining because we don't have a beautiful big store with a coffee shop and so on but we would really miss having a book store in Woodbury.
