Woodbury Mayor Mary Giuliani Stephens said she only met Patrick Murray once.
“Some people make a big impact,” she said, “and he was one of those people.”
The Woodbury City Council on Wednesday unanimously approved a measure naming Aug. 5-11, 2012, as Patrick Murray Remembrance Week in Woodbury.
Murray died July 30, 2012, after a battle with cancer. He was 72.
The Lake Elmo resident was the CEO of Service Ideas, Inc., and was instrumental in bringing the company to Woodbury in 1996, according to a council memo.
“He and his family have grown the business over the past sixteen years, recently completing an expansion to the facility, creating jobs and adding tax base to the community,” the memo reads.
