Updated: Woodbury Man Charged in Knife Wielding Road Rage Incident

The altercation occurred near Panda Express in January.

Update: 1:52 p.m., Wednesday, Dec. 26

The case has been dismissed.

Update: 3:06 p.m., Thursday, Dec. 5

Bice’s attorney, Murad M. Mohammad of Mohammad, Schiks & Jaafar, said the alleged victim “played a substantial part in the incident” and was the aggressor by tailgating Bice and following him to the parking lot.

Mohammad also said the alleged victim had a similar run-in with a Woodbury police officer a short time after the January incident.

“It’s easy to look at one side of a story,” Mohammad said, but the backstory is often more telling.

Updated from:

A Woodbury man faces a felony charge after he allegedly pulled a knife following a January road rage incident.

William Terence Bice, 27, allegedly put one hand around the neck of a man and pointed the knife at him in a parking lot at the 7400 block of Currell Boulevard on Jan. 23.

According to the criminal complaint:

The two had been engaged in a road rage incident that started near Bailey Road and Woodbury Drive, and the man who was allegedly accosted followed Bice to the lot.

There, they exchanged words, and Bice parked his car and approached the other driver, 27, who had to kick his door open to get out because Bice was holding it shut.

When the man got out of the car, Bice drew a knife, put his hand around the man’s neck and said, “Get the (expletive) back in your car.”

Witnesses gave police a similar account, as did Bice, who admitted to officers that he drew his knife and told the man he “really did a stupid thing.”

The knife was in Bice’s possession when he was searched, and a witness confirmed it was the weapon used in the altercation.

If convicted, he faces up to five years in prison and a $10,000 fine.

Strange. I actually had to look at my calendar for a second to make sure it's December now. These kinds of things mess with my head.

Maybe we can ask Judge Galler why there's such a lag for his next column...

That wasn't part of the report Jess, but thanks for the info. I will be speaking with the defendant's attorney today. I don't remember posting anything about this previously though.
