Woodbury Man Sentenced on Criminal Sexual Conduct Charge

Anthony Neil Sweet, 51, was sentenced to more than 11 years in prison.

 

A Woodbury has been sentenced to more than 11 years in prison following his conviction for sexually assaulting two girls.

Anthony Neil Sweet, 51, who was given credit for 157 days served, must register as a sex offender and submit a DNA sample to the state Bureau of Criminal Apprehension.

In September 2012 police were called about a possible sexual assault, and subsequent interviews with two girls revealed further accusations against Sweet. One of the girls told officers he had been sexually assaulting her since she was 5 years old.

Sweet later admitted to the assaults and to taking sexually explicit photos of one of the girls, according to the criminal complaint.

He was convicted of first-degree criminal sexual conduct.
