Woodbury PD Blotter: June 17-21
Police responded to several reports of vehicle break-ins at Cascade Plaza recently.
The following information was obtained from recent police reports.
A car radio was reported stolen from a vehicle parked at the 1100 block of Cedarwood Drive on June 17.
A 2010 Ford Taurus was reported stolen from the driveway of a home at the 2300 block of Carlsbad Plaza on June 17.
A set of keys was reported stolen from a vehicle at the 2300 block of Cascade Plaza South on June 17.
Police were called to Francesca's Collections on June 17 after employees there planned to confront a worker suspected of theft. The individual was cited.
A rear window of a vehicle parked at the Woodbury Lifetime Fitness was broken and a gym bag was reported stolen on June 17. Checks that were in the bag were passed at Minneapolis banks for a total of $975. Police reviewed surveillance tapes from Lifetime and have footage of the incident.
A resident at the 2100 block of Woodcrest Drive called police on June 17 after noticing that a “little green plastic ‘slow down’ safety guy” in his yard had been stolen. The figure was valued at $30.
A 65-year-old woman who was parking her car at the Walgreens on Donegal Drive on June 17 accidentally drove into a wall. The vehicle was damaged and some items were knocked over inside the store. The woman—who may have had a medical episode—was transported to Woodwinds Hospital for evaluation.
Police were called to the 6100 block of Garbe Avenue on June 17 after a resident spotted a raccoon. Officers found a baby raccoon, which the caller said had been “crying and won’t stop walking into the street.” Police transported the animal to a rural area and released it without incident.
A laptop computer and digital camera were reported stolen from a vehicle parked at the 2300 block of Cascade Plaza South on June 17. There were several similar reports that occurred in the area during the overnight hours of June 16-17.
Police recovered a $79 bottle of perfume stolen from Ulta Salon on June 18. A woman put the bottle under her dress and left the store. Officers tracked down the vehicle and made the arrest.
A man was reportedly punched in the face by a motorcyclist at the Kwik Trip on Hudson Road on June 18. Woodbury police checked the area and the State Patrol handled the investigation.
A large tortoise safely made it across Lake Road on June 18.
Police were called about a June 19 incident at the Bielenberg Sports Center in which a parent pushed an 11-year-old boy to the ground. Police planned to follow up with the soccer league to identify the parent. The boy’s mother, a Minneapolis woman, did not want to press charges but wanted the person identified.
A $500 cement figure was reported taken from a at the 3400 block of Crestmoor Drive and moved to a nearby field. Police got the call on June 19.
An iPod was reported stolen from a vehicle parked in an unlocked garage at the 6300 block of Aspenwood Plaza on June 20.
Police on June 20 sent two customers who were apparently arguing with and swearing at employees at Charming Charlie on their way.
A window on a Chevy Silverado parked at Lifetime Fitness was broken and an iPod charger was reported stolen on June 21.
A $100 GPS device was reported stolen from a vehicle at the 7200 block of Guider Drive and one of its windows was broken on June 21.
Someone vandalized a bathroom at a park building near East Ridge High School on June 21. There were two separate incidents reported, and two soap dispensers were destroyed and toilet paper had been used to start a fire in a urinal.
