Woodbury Plows Hit City Three Times During Major Snowstorm
The storm dumped 14 inches on Woodbury, says street supervisor.
Woodbury plows were out at 6:30 a.m. Sunday, when more than a foot of snow fell on the city.
“They basically worked around the clock,” said Jim Triebold, street superintendent, and didn’t head home until 9:30 a.m. Monday.
The city got 14 inches of snow, he said.
“I think we fared pretty well,” Triebold said.
Public Works crews plowed the entire city three times as snow fell at a rate of about three-quarters of an inch an hour, Triebold said. It takes about eight hours to plow the city one time, he said.

The storm was similar to a spring snow event, he said, with wet flakes getting packed down on Woodbury streets.
“It’s just like if you’re making a snowball,” Triebold said. “It acts the same way on the street.
There aren’t too many areas of the city with that hard pack, which was made worse by the number of vehicles out on the roads during the storm, he said.
“I could have sworn it was Black Friday,” he said.
Crews were out on Tuesday salting some of those spots and planned to get out again on Wednesday and clean up those areas, Triebold said.

Bailey Roa Road My cul de sac was only plowed once during th My cul de sac was only plowed once during the storm the plow I see boulder out from my mailbox. I left i out from my mailbox. I left it because I assumed the plow would be back to clean this up. It did not so I cleaned it up last night so that I could get mail by the second day. Again today the road and many others were turn to slush but no plow came down to clean off the road after the sunshine and warm up. I didn't expect to have to snow blow bored boulders of ice that stretched 8 feet out from my mailbox into the street

I have heard many reports that the interstate in Wisconsin was perfect just passed Hudson while it was icy and crusted over in Minnesota. They got basically the same weather and same changes in weather to deal with. What's Up Minnesota that Wisconsin has this figured out. Is it their brine mixture that they use on the roads?

I have noticed this too. WI 94 perfect, cross to MN...washerboard.
I think at least this side of the MN gets forgotten.
(in before Susan tells us we should not be crossing the bridge to work in MN...)

I am a long time resident and this is some of the worst plowing I have ever seen. The first guy to come through was EXCELLENT, plowed basically curb to curb, but the 2nd guy that came through terrible. He apparently had no clue where the curbs were, the snow on both sides of the street was at least 4 to 5 ft from the curb. Thank goodness for the neighbor guys with the huge snowblowers or we wouldn't get mail until the spring.
