Woodbury Power Outages Not Related to Cold Weather
Power was briefly out for some Woodbury residents during overnight hours earlier this week.
It wasn’t frozen power lines that did it.
Power was briefly knocked out for some Woodbury residents during the overnight hours of Monday and Tuesday (Jan. 21-22) and Tuesday and Wednesday (Jan. 22-23) this week.
The first incident was caused by a tree branch that fell on a line, and the second was simply a failed wire, said Tom Hoen, Xcel Energy media relations representative.
“Two completely unrelated incidents, and unfortunately some of the same customers got hit,” he said.
Cold weather is not typically an issue for power lines, Hoen said.
He did not have exact locations for the outages, but one Woodbury resident told Patch her power went out on Horseshoe Lane, off Radio Drive and south of Valley Creek Road.

I wonder what the problem was on the third night when it went out at least twice. Oak Ridge Trail was out on those nights. Thanks for checking it out, Kris.
