Woodbury to Celebrate ‘Take Heart’ Campaign
Since February 2012, the city’s Public Safety Department has trained more than 7,000 people in hands-only CPR.
The Woodbury Public Safety Department will celebrate its Take Heart Woodbury campaign later this month.
The department last February announced an ambitious goal of training 7,000 people in hands-only CPR, and reached it last month.
The public is invited to the celebration, set for 6 p.m. Thursday, March 28, at the department’s headquarters on Radio Drive.
The event, which will be held in the Public Safety Education Room, will include a brief ceremony.
“The purpose is to recognize everyone who helped the city reach its goal of training 10 percent of the population so they are better prepared to act in case of a sudden cardiac emergency,” reads a release from the department. “The Take Heart Woodbury initiative started in March of last year with two goals: create awareness of sudden cardiac arrest and empower citizens to take action when facing an emergency situation.”
