Life Time Fitness, Honesty and Excuses

Hello Healthy Readers!

Did you read last week’s post on 5 Ways to Maximize Your Summer? If not, today is the best day to do so; Happy First Day of Summer 2012 (1 day late :)!

What are your favorite summer activities, foods, sports, events? How are you doing in reaching your summer health and fitness goals? Do you need a little inspiration to keep your momentum during this wonderful summer heat? Can I say SUMMER one more time!! OK, but really...

I think we all need to ask ourselves sometimes, and honestly evaluate “how am I doing?”

“Am I reaching the goals that I set six months ago on New Year’s Day?”

“Am I staying true to the commitment I made to my kids to spend more time?”

“Am I taking my weight loss/fitness/sport seriously enough?”

It can be easy to make rationalizations like:

  • I'm good in every other area of my lifeI make so many sacrifices already
  • I need this comfort in this season of life
  • I'll deal with it later
  • I just can't give this up
  • It's not really a problem
  • If I wanted to make a change, I could, I just don't want to right now
  • Everyone has issues, so what if this is mine

However, we all know that excuses get us nowhere.

A whole lifetime can be spent making excuses, giving in, feeling guilty, resolving to do better, beating ourselves up for not keeping our resolutions, feeling like a failure, and then deciding that things can't change.

Whether you need to tackle healthy eating, losing weight, spending more time at home, spending more time focused on work or school, working on spirituality though meditation or prayer...

Whatever it is, Is there an honest admission you need to make today? I'd love to help you be honest with yourselves!

That’s it for now. Remember, I’m here for YOU so please share questions and comments below!

I've heard a lot of complaints now that Gold's is Xperience Fitness. My thoughts on powerlifting for a sport is that it's great! However the grunting and chalk could be an issue at certain gyms. Gold's has always been a powerlifting type gym, but now that they're Xperience, apparently they're not making it so power-friendly. It's unfortunate that they switched over and those men felt like they were forced out, but I would have to agree that the environment isn't exactly where they should be anymore. Hopefully they will be happy at LA Fitness and won't have any problems there!
