Because of ancient Mayan calenders suggesting that the world will end on December 21st, 2012, many believers have not been looking forward to this new year.

The Mayan calenders stopped on this so-called "deadly-date," leading many to believe that this is the day that the world will end. But these calenders never specifically stated that the world will end.

Some say, the stopped calander simply means the beginning of a new cycle, and it was never intended to say that the world will end at all.

No one knows for sure how the entire world can be wiped-out, but that hasn't stopped many from creating scientific theories, some of which can supposedly be found in The Bible. The Bible discusses a revolution that is supposed to take place this year. Other theories, ranging from the earth's magnetic field reversing to a giant meteor striking the earth, can be found amongst many groups.

But for some, the talk of the world ending is nothing new. 

My dad previously discussed with me the many scares that have taken place just throughout his lifetime, ranging from Y2K to the fright of May 2010. But, after all these theories and all this reasoning, the world is still here. 

I'm not saying that the world won't end in 2012, but all the other false scares have proved the many so-called "elaborate theories" wrong.

So, don't panic. Take 2012 as it comes. Make some New Year's resolutions! (Even though your resolution may fail by Feb. 1.)

I have a resolution for everyone: don't dread the day the world will supposedly end. Just promisde to live this year to the fullest.
