Running is a place of solace for me. It is a place where I go for reflection and prayer. Based on a beautiful idea from the city of Nashville, Tennessee I would like to invite and challenge the Twin Cities area to run with me in honor of the 26 victims, and the city of Newtown, CT. The goal is to run/walk 26 miles as an individual or group around the Minneapolis Lakes. There will be four loops of 6.5 miles around Lake of the Isles and Lake Calhoun. I am asking for a dollar donation (minimum) for each mile that you run. Every donation will be sent to Newtown, CT via the United Way. We will meet December 29, 2012 at 8 am at the south parking lot of Lake Calhoun off of East Calhoun Parkway.
This is not a political run. This is not a gun control run. This is not a mental health discussion run. It is a run that reflects community, togetherness and peace. Please pass this on to your friends and family. Volunteers are always welcome.
We welcome runners and walkers of all levels.
