Christmas Cheer, New Development, Marketing Woodbury: Council Preview

The City Council is set to review plans for Ravenswood, change its Christmas Eve alcohol-sales policy and hold a workshop on potential updates to the city's marketing efforts.

The Woodbury City Council on Wednesday is set to review plans for Ravenswood, a new residential development slated west of Radio Drive along the city’s southern border.

The plans call for 10 single-family homes on nearly 40 acres.

Ravenswood marks the latest phase of growth in the southern portion of the city, following Bailey Lake, Southridge and Autumn Ridge.

Christmas Eve Bars

Want to grab a beer at a Woodbury establishment with friends and family on Christmas Eve?

A consent agenda item would remove language from the city’s alcohol policy to allow sales between 8 p.m. on Christmas Eve and 8 a.m. on Christmas Day.

The change would align Woodbury’s policy with state rules regarding alcohol sales.

Following the regular meeting Wednesday, the council will move to a workshop meeting as part of an ongoing discussion on improving the city’s marketing efforts.

Woodbury is considering hiring a firm to help with branding and consistency in promotional materials, and may also tap a firm to conduct a study on the viability of a convention and visitors bureau.

The council discussed both items last week.

The council meets at 7:30 p.m. Wednesday, Oct. 23, at City Hall. Find the full agenda on the city's website. The agenda for the workshop is also available online.
