Farewell Woodbury

It's been a great run, and I appreciate the people of Woodbury for their support over the past three years.

To quote former Mayor Bill Hargis: “Woodbury is what it is because our citizens are who they are.”

In my three years covering the city, I’ve learned that this couldn’t be truer.

It’s with much sadness that I announce my resignation from Woodbury Patch. My last day is Friday.

Launching Patch three years ago was scary and exciting, and it was a heck of a lot easier thanks to the support and encouragement of folks in Woodbury.

The city really grew on me during my time here. Everyone is so kind and caring and courteous and genuine.

I’m looking forward to the next chapter in my career, but it’s bittersweet to leave behind the friends I’ve made—and the excitement of running a 24-7 news website.

There are so many people I’d like thank (and you know who you are). For fear of leaving someone out, I’ll issue a blanket appreciation for all you have done for me.

I was once told that Woodbury Patch might as well be Kris Janisch Patch. But really, it’s your Patch.

People have taken ownership of the site, and I’ve worked hard to reflect the interests of Patch’s readers and users.

I can’t say enough how thankful I am for the opportunity to cover Woodbury, and how much I will miss the city. It’s a wonderful place with amazing people.

Thank you Woodbury, and farewell.
