Report: Mark Mann Walking Again
Mann, who grew up in Woodbury, lost his legs below the knee after a boating accident last spring.
New Life Academy graduate Mark Mann, who lost his legs in a June boating accident, is taking his first steps with prosthetic legs, according to a KSTP report.
Mann grew up in Woodbury, and has been raising funds to pay for medical expenses. An event was held at New Life in August.
“It really isn’t a sob story. I’m grateful to be alive and breathing,” Mann told Patch in July. “I’m a pretty positive person, and I’ve tried to keep that mind-set throughout.”

Now, he’s walking again.
The first steps were “very robotic,” he told KSTP, and said he has longed for those “simple moments” like standing up.
