Woodbury Business: What Do You Want to See? Too Many…?

A question on the Woodbury Patch Facebook page about businesses in town garnered dozens of responses.

On the Woodbury Patch Facebook page, Robert asked:

Have to ask, there is much debate as to what businesses Woodbury has too much of. What are some businesses that residence would like to see in their community?

Below are the responses. Check out the Facebook post to find more and see which answers got the most likes.

Kathryn: More restaurants that are unique to Woodbury.

Susan: A coin laundry with large capacity tubs would be nice. Who wants to dry-clean their bedspreads, you know? Stillwater has a very nice one near the high school. Very clean & well kept up. Bummer to have your washer or dryer go paws up and have to drive so far...(spoken from experience unfortunately)

Kevin: Dunkin Donuts

Rebecca: I would like to see less furniture stores.

Pamela: I second Dunkin Donuts with Baskin Robbins ice cream! Less Asian restaurants.

Natalie: Costco

Scott: Bojangles chicken and biscuits. Oh and another Applebee's!

Shari: Craft Stores, like a ceramic shop or something. I think there's plenty of big retailers and restaurants.

Patrick: Do it yourself car wash!

Patti: Way too many mattress stores.

Patti: Shari - Hobby Lobby is coming.

Rebecca: I would like to see another bookstore (big like Barns & Nobles). I've been really bummed out since Borders closed, and I dislike Barns & Nobles, and Target/Walmart don't carry huge selections. The geek in me would love to have an Apple Store.

Mary: How many furniture stores does one town need? It's the first thing I noticed when I moved here in December. I agree more restaurants associated with Woodbury; Texas Roadhouse is awesome but doesn't seem to be one anywhere near Woodbury; Hardees; How about shops highlighting local artists, designers, and crafters?

Wendy: Woodbury could use a restaurant like Cafe Latte in St. Paul. Low key, good food, tasty desserts and wine bar.

Tricia: Woodbury needs an "indoor" mall with clothing/retail. Woodbury Lakes is a pain-in-the-butt with a baby stroller opening every store's door to enter, and to exit. Add snow/wind in the mix. Repeat for every store, no thank you. Plus... there's no sandwich shop to grab a quick bite to eat while shopping there.

David: Would like to see more mom and pop to give Woodbury an uniqueness and less chain stores

Anna: Excited for Punch Pizza! Would also love to see a Sawatdees and a comic book shop.

Vicky: I would love a good Asian restaurant that delivered!

Beth-Ann: pizza and mattresses in one store

Katherine: Good Mexican restaurant

Mike: I second the Texas Roadhouse and hobby store suggestions. Whole foods would be nice too.

Jeanne: Too many pharmacies! Cub has one, Sam's, Walmart, 2-CVS's and 2 Walgreens! I'm sure I'm missing one .... Really!!!! Would love a Dunkin Donuts!

Kim: Have said it before...want a Dave and Busters. Would love to see a good toy store (walmart/target not always the best and don't want to go to Maplewood toysrus). Would like some restaurants that deliver anything other than pizza and sandwiches.

Rebecca: Too many mattress stores. I'd love to see whole Foods!! And more restaurants willing to deliver.

Jaime: A locally owned, non-chain brewpub! Oh, and a Four Firkins, Jason. (;

Douglas: An auto parts store. There isn't a single one in Woodbury that I know of.

Kelly: Drive thru Starbucks! Costco! And, yes, no more mattress stores!!!

Jenny: Whole Foods and a Jason's Deli

Anna: An authentic Philly Sub shop. Jersey Mike's disappointed me with their cheese steaks and I had such high hopes. Also a classy seafood restaurant (Red Lobster doesn't count). Maybe it's the east coast in me crying out for a taste of home.

Anna: Also either Whole Foods or Wagman's super market.

Chad: Maybe a Piggly Wiggly?

Ashley: I would absolutely love an actual comic/game shop. The ones we have to drive to are 15+ minutes away. No more mattress or furniture stores. A microbrewery in Woodbury would be awesome. More locally owned restaurants/businesses - and I second an actual deli.

Dave: Napa or Auto Zone would be nice.

Brian: A decent full service car wash with space for larger vehicles and easy accessibility.

Brian: Would also love Hu Hot or BDs Mongolian BBQ

Sherri: A gas station and/or small market on Bailey would be awesome. If I take Bailey out onto 494 there isn't a place for gas til you get to SSP, but that one is not even that convenient to stop at...

Tiffany: micro brew, authentic Greek restaurant, more drive thru coffee shops, Costco

Abbigail: Whole Foods.

Kathy: Popeyes - we need a fried chicken place

Grant: I agree with fried chicken spot. Also, a traditional diner—mom and pop style—has been missing for years!

Nicole: I want Costco, Whole Foods, Toys R Us, a diner with Wi-Fi, and I agree with the full service car wash
