WOODBURY SPINE PROVIDES SUSTAINABLE, LIFE CHANGING WELLNESS PROGRAM

WOODBURY SPINE WELLNESS CENTER PROVIDES SUSTAINABLE, LIFE CHANGING WELLNESS PROGRAM

Woodbury, MN, January 7th, 2014-- A local Chiropractor is helping people change their lives through a sustainable wellness program.  Woodbury Spine Wellness center became a chiropractic office beyond the norm when they began to provide 8 Weeks to Wellness and started changing lives for the better.  The program is designed to help a patient kick-start long-term weight loss by adopting healthier eating and exercise habits. 8 Weeks to Wellness is a personalized wellness program that focuses on health, not sickness with a customized nutrition plan, on-site personal training sessions, weekly mediation instruction, customized chiropractic care and massage therapy. The program also includes an accountability and nutritional coach to support patients in achieving their weight loss and wellness goals.

"8 Weeks to Wellness is a revolutionary program that goes beyond weight loss and encompasses all aspects of a healthy lifestyle," said Dr. Justin Nye, DC. "An unhealthy lifestyle is the root cause for 75 percent of all disease. The 8 Weeks to Wellness program teaches patients to become their own best doctor, breaking unhealthy habits and replacing these habits with new, positive ones."  The 8 Weeks to Wellness program includes individualized meal plans and easy recipes; all the food can be found in a patient's local grocery store.  "We want to encourage patients to cook and prepare their own food, rather than relying on pre-packaged meals," said Dr. Nye. "Cooking healthy meals helps build a positive relationship with food."

Although the program has helped patients lose a dramatic amount of weight since the program's introduction, Woodbury Spine Wellness Center chooses not to think of 8 weeks to wellness as a weight loss program, but rather a wellness lifestyle program. Patients join the program with various goals, from wanting to decrease their dependence on prescription drugs, reduce health factors that put them at risk for heart disease, or to feel and look like they did 5 or 10 years ago.  Some of the benefits beyond weight loss seen in Woodbury Spine’s office consist of a mother able to run with her daughter again, patients getting off blood pressure and cholesterol medications, increase in self worth and energy, and patients ridding themselves of Type II Diabetes.  Patients learn to live a wellness lifestyle and are equipped with many tools that will help them maintain their weight and health long after they graduate from the 8 weeks to wellness program.

Patients start the program with an intensive physical examination which includes a blood panel, bioimpediance analysis, functional movement testing, and spinal scan; giving the doctors a better insight to a patient's health compared to 99% of other weight loss programs.  In addition to the results, each patient is given a Wellness Score, which is then retested to see the results after the final weeks.  “The score helps each patient see where they are in health and no one wants to fail in health,” said Dr. Nye. The Wellness Score, along with each patient's goals, helps shape the 8 weeks to wellness program for maximum results for each patient.

Since the first patients and staff completed the program in March of 2013, patients have lost more than 500 collective pounds.  According to Dr. Nye, the average 8 Weeks to Wellness patient loses 15.4 pounds, 3.26 inches off his/her waistline, 3 inches of his/her hips, increases muscle mass by 19% and decreases BMI by 2.37.  "Patients lose weight and keep the pounds off because 8 Weeks to Wellness completely changes their approach to eating and exercise," said Dr. Nye. "We help patients adopt new, healthy habits that support their long-term health. This is not a 'lose weight quick' program that promises big results, but a permanent and sustainable lifestyle change.

Dr. Nye explains that the program has a higher success rate, and long-term results, as there are, “No gimmicky weight loss pills or lotions.  The key is that we look at the body as a whole, and we use time tested proven systems to lose the weight forever. These positive habits will transform your life. You will lose the weight you want to and keep the weight off for good.  Of all weight loss plans 95% fail and people will gain the weight back and even more. On this plan you are doing supervised workouts specifically designed for you, and your nutrition plan is constantly reviewed by our doctors, nutritional counselor and trainers."  Researchers have said that it takes three weeks to change a habit, therefore the program was designed to give the doctors adequate time to coach and counsel patients to change their habits for a wellness lifestyle.

Dr. Justin Nye and Woodbury Spine Wellness Center staff is enthused with the program's results, and love making it a team effort to change lives.
