14/15A Woodbury White Royals played for the Championship @ Gopher State Baseball Tournament

14/15A Woodbury White Royals finished 35-5-2 in their 2013 season.  Their outstanding accomplishments include:

First Place in Region 5 MBL
Second Place in Tier One League Play-offs
First Place in Metro Baseball (MBT) State Tournament
Second Place in Gopher State Tournament of Champions (GSTC) State Tournament

Head Coach, Troy Neubauer said, “This was truly the best season I have had in my 22 years of coaching youth sports.  To make it to all three major championships is a HUGE accomplishment.  I am happy and proud to be a part of this team.”

Assistant Coach, Kraig Kroells added “The boys did a great job all season long; they had a lot of fun, and always encouraged their team mates if they got down.  Great kids, great families, it was simply a great season.”

In regard to the GSTC, Kraig shared a conversation he had with his co-worker who is a coach for another Region 5 team.  "The other team had Altoona in their pool in the GSTC Tourney and that coach had a perplexed look on his face when I told him that we beat Altoona, 9-6, on Sunday morning.”  His co-worker asked, “How did you do that?  Altoona was by far the best team we saw all season and I thought they were unbeatable.”  Kraig told him, “Everything came together and our team played our best game of the season at the right time, in spite of injuries and a few players who were missing due to vacations.”  His co-worker was extremely pleased with the result of that game.
