Best Finish of the Year – East Ridge Dance Team scores 2nd

INVER GROVE HEIGHTS, MINNESOTA January 25, 2014 — The East Ridge High School Dance Team continues to establish themselves taking home 2nd place honors in the Kick division and 3rd place in the Jazz division at the 16th annual Simley High School Dance Team Booster Club Invitational. 

Ms. Ashley Stoffel, Co-Head Coach, “We continue to get better.  This competition was challenging because we had some girls away on a mission trip. We needed to make some adjustments to our formations, which also provided an opportunity for some of the younger dancers to take the floor." 

The State Dance Team Competition, first started in 1975, and has evolved to its current format of Classes A, AA, and AAA competing in the Jazz and Kick divisions.  East Ridge is a Class AAA competitor and finished 4th in the Suburban East Conference this year.

Ms. Melissa Vogler, Co-Head Coach, “The girls have gotten stronger and more consistent as the season has progressed.  We are proud of all their hard work and are really looking forward to sections," 

You can see the ERDT perform at halftime of the East Ridge Girls varsity basketball game versus Forest Lake Friday, January 31, in the Raptors Perch main gym.  The game starts at 7:15.
