Christian Cupboard Expands Service Hours

The Christian Cupboard Emergency Food Shelf (CCEFS) has extended service hours to better meet the needs of the people who are served.  In response to a customer survey, the food shelf, located in the lower level of Woodbury Lutheran Church, 7380 Afton Road, is now open three days per week: Monday 12:00 – 4:00 p.m., Thursday 5:00 – 7:00 p.m., and Friday 9:00 a.m. – 1:30 p.m.

In addition, changes have been made to the distribution process; food shelf customers are now able to “shop” for their food, assisted by a volunteer, rather than receive pre-packaged bags of food as they had in the past.  By changing to a choice model, customers receive the food their families will eat, resulting in less waste and a more dignified experience.

If you are interested in becoming a volunteer or if your family needs assistance, please visit www.christiancupboard.org for details.
