With the DFL endorsement now under her belt, Hendrikson is setting her sights on the General Election in November.  Hendrikson cited the scope of her work and life experiences as making her the most qualified candidate to represent all the residents of District 53B.  Concerning education, “I know what’s it like in the classroom having been a special education teacher and a Community Faculty member at Metropolitan State University.  My first jobs were in early childhood education -- the Head Start program and special education.  I earned a Master’s and PhD in Educational Policy and Administration from the University of Minnesota.  My daughter attended and graduated from the Woodbury public school system.”

In addition to her work in education, Hendrikson’s career path has spanned from Human Services to managing information technology; including helping those with developmental disabilities and mental health issues to CIO at Metropolitan Health Plan, IT Director for the City of Minneapolis, and CIO at the Minnesota Department of Administration.

Hendrikson said, “I’ve served many roles over the years, but I’ve never stopped serving our community. Most importantly, I know the changes we need to make to provide quality services while making sure we get the best bang for our buck. In my own life, I’ve had to make every penny count, and I will treat your tax dollars with the same respect as I do with my own budget.”
