Woodbury 6-Year-Old Makes Bracelets to Help Kids in Need

Hailey Steele, 6, from Woodbury, may be a little girl, but she has a huge heart.

Hailey makes beaded bracelets and sells them for $1 each to help kids in need. She has raised $200 to date for the “Give Kids The World” village in Orlando, Fla.

The village exists to fulfill the wishes of all children with life-threatening illnesses and their families from around the world to experience a memorable, joyful, cost-free visit to the Central Florida attractions.

Over 122,000 children have had their dream come true at Give Kids the World. No child in need has ever been turned away-and no child ever will.

Hailey has sold her bracelets at Kid Create Studio, Rosedale Center, to many friends and family, and has been invited to sell at the Afton Lakeland Elementary School fall family dance on September 27, 2013.

Hailey was inspired to help after she had a fantastic trip to Disney World. She wanted to help other kids be able to do the same. Due to her age, not many volunteer opportunities are open to her so it took some creative thinking on how she could contribute.

Every time she sells a bracelet her face lights up. She even helps her customers find a bracelet that contains beads of their favorite color. The money she raises will be used by the hotel to put on a weekly “Christmas” party and for unlimited trips to the hotel ice-cream palace.
