Woodbury HS Homerun Club

WHS Baseball Parents, Alumni, and Woodbury Community Members,

The Woodbury High School Baseball team and our Homerun Club are proud to announce that we, along with great support from our Athletic Department, have purchased 400 Metrodome seats to be riser mounted in our WHS Baseball Stadium.  This is a project we are very excited about and will be a great addition to our facility and to the viewing experience of our fans.  This is a project we have prepared for over the past couple of years, but now that the seats are here we are realizing that this is a much more difficult project than we anticipated.

There are two components that are adding to the difficulty of this great addition to our facility; one is the difficulty of the installation process onto the facing of our hollow core cement stadium, and two is the financial aspect of the project.  The installation will demand that all holes (1600) are predrilled and then filled with a sleeved anchor and filled with an epoxy.  This will take precision, with the use of a template, as well as a great deal of time and energy.  With up to 1600 holes needing to be filled with a special epoxy, to fill in the hollow portion of the concrete it will also take a lot of money.  The hardware itself has been quoted at over $12,000 from Hilti Co.

With these two components we are attempting to collect as much support as possible from our immediate and extended (alumni/relatives/friends/etc) Woodbury High School Baseball Family as well as any community members that may be willing to help us in this project.  Support can be shown in a couple of different ways; one would be as a financial supporter and the other would be as a helper/worker in the installation process.  To help financially we are setting up a seat sponsorship program.  For $60, your name, your family name, former alumni’s name, or your business name could be placed on a seat in our stadium for the life of the chairs.  This would be an opportunity for a legacy of WHS Baseball alumni, families, and supporters, to be permanently fixed in our stadium and of course greatly aid us in the financial burden of this project.  The second show of support would be as a worker on the installation project.  We will be in need of both skilled and unskilled construction type workers to fill roles for the installation process.  We would greatly appreciate your help or your efforts in asking family, friends, and acquaintances that may be able to aid us in the install process.  The more skilled construction workers we have the easier the project will become, but we will also need players and parents that may not be particularly skilled in construction to help in some facet.

Please see below for the tentative work dates we are attempting to set for installation.  This is a project we would like to at least start and possibly complete before our season begins, as at that point I would like our players and coaching staff to focus on the development of our team for the 2014 season.  Also below you will see the seat sponsorship options that we have set forth.  Please contact myself or a Homerun Club member with any and all questions, as well as volunteer sign up and/or seat sponsorship.  Pass this letter along to anyone that you think may have an interest or be able to help.
