Dozens Cited for Winter-Parking Violations in Woodbury

The city’s rules run from Nov. 1 through April 1.

More than 30 vehicles were cited for violating the city’s winter-parking rules over the past six days, according to police reports.

Between Nov. 1 and April 1, on-street parking is prohibited between 2 a.m. and 6 a.m. The ordinance is in place to make snow removal more efficient.

Also, on-street parking is prohibited any time two or more inches of snow have accumulated. This is in effect until the street has been completely plowed. The two-inch guideline applies to any hour of the day and any time of the year.

Those in violation of the winter parking ordinance are given a $25 administrative citation for the first offense; it doubles with subsequent offenses. They do not appear on driving or criminal records.

The winter parking ordinance does not apply to private streets (marked with a blue street sign), only to public roadways.
