Get Your Woodbury Block Signed Up for Night to Unite

This year's event is set for Tuesday, Aug. 7. Want a member of the Public Safety Department at your block party? Here's how.

Think your kids might enjoy having a fire truck in front of your house?

Minnesota Night to Unite is Tuesday, Aug. 7, and Woodbury is encouraging people to sign up for block parties.

Those who would like a member of to stop by during their event can fill out a Special Events Request form on the city’s website.

The city will make every effort to visit as many events as possible, according to the webpage. Last year the city asked people to have their submissions in at least two weeks before the event.

Night to Unite is aimed at promoting anti-crime programs and strengthening ties between public safety personnel and the community.

“Block parties and other neighborhood get-togethers are a great way of connecting with your neighbors. Woodbury Public Safety believes that effective crime prevention begins with strong neighborhood and law enforcement partnerships,” Public Safety Director Lee Vague said in statement before last year's event.
