Heroics Save Woodbury Man at Turkey Trot Run

A Woodbury man is here for the holidays only because of the quick-thinking of a fellow runner at last month's Turkey Trot 5K

A Woodbury man's family now refers to Bruce Kiecker as "Bruce Almighty."

Jeff Joseph and his wife, Lisa, were a few yards into the Turkey Trot 5K in St. Paul when the 34-year-old man collapsed, victim of a heart attack, according to KARE11.com, who caught up with the Joseph family.

Kiecker, whose wife saw Jeff go down as they raced with a child and family dog, sprung into action. Medically trained, he performed CPR until first-responders on the scene were able to get Joseph to a nearby hospital.

Now, Jeff and his hero get to see each other almost daily, as Jeff recovers at United Hospital, where Bruce works as an ICU nurse.

"My family calls him 'Bruce Almighty.' That's his nickname," Jeff told KARE 11.
