Snapshot: Woodbury Public Safety, WHS Staff Play Basketball for Link Crew

The annual charity game was held Wednesday night at Woodbury High School.

Woodbury High School staff squared off on the hardwood against members of the Woodbury Public Safety Department for a Wednesday night fundraiser to benefit the Link Crew.

The Link Crew at WHS works to connect upperclassmen with freshmen as the younger students transition to high school.

The basketball game was fun and lighthearted, and one WHS staffer dressed up in a beard and sweatpants, at times limping around using a cane (not on the court).

The staff at Woodbury High School put together a little trash-talking video beforehand, but the public safety team came out on top. Still, in the end, the game was all about supporting the Link Crew.

So much more than just an orientation, Link Crew is a freshman transition program that welcomes freshmen and makes them feel comfortable throughout the first year of their high school experience. Built on the belief that students are Woodbury's best resource for helping other students succeed, Link Crew trains members of the junior and senior class to be Link Leaders. As positive role models, Link Leaders are motivators who guide the freshmen and help them to learn what it takes to be successful in high school.
