With Phase One Nearly Complete, Portion of Woodbury Drive Opens to Traffic Today

The intersection of Woodbury Drive and Lake Road is set re-open to east-west traffic today, as Washington County construction crews near completion of Phase 1 of this two-step project.

This intersection was closed in late April. Over the past few weeks, work at the intersection has included concrete curb and gutter work, work on a multi-purpose trail, bituminous paving on roadway, turf establishment, and sign installation.

County Road 19/Woodbury Drive will continue to be closed from Park Crossing to south of Lake Road.  This road closure will remain in effect until the completion of the Phase 1 construction, at the end of July. Follow the posted detour routes for this road closure. Residential and business access is maintained, but all through traffic should follow the detour routes.

Phase 2 of the project will begin in August, and run through the end of the 2013 construction season. The entire project should be completed, weather permitting, by November.

The purpose of the project is to improve safety and mobility on County Road 19 and includes widening the roadway to four lanes, installing a raised median, constructing two roundabouts, and installing paved trails on each side of the roadway.
